Why should I choose Seregeti Fishing Charters?
You get the experience of a lifetime with Serengeti, where you are truly an honoured guest. While many of the competition put you up in a hotel and make you buy your own dinners, we have you stay in our home and serve you fresh home cooked meals. Meals frequently feature the fish you caught that day, a taste you will never forget. Our boat offers a level of luxury and safety unmatched by any of our competitors. Serengeti gives you the most comfortable and consistent fishing for your money. Best of all, Serengeti Charters' first goal is your success. Our hours are flexible and we will go wherever is required to find your catch of a lifetime.

How long are the fishing trips?
Generally, we will leave the dock at 0600 hrs. and return at 1400 hrs. However our first goal is to catch fish. If that takes 10 or 12 hours, we'll be out on the water for as long as it takes. If you wish to leave earlier or return at a different time, it can be arranged with prior notice.

How much gear is supplied?
All fishing gear, bait, and tackle is provided in the original price of the charter.  However, you must buy your fishing license from a local dealer, which we can arrange.

Are there washrooms aboard your boats?
On both our vessels, there are toilets available for use.

Is it possible to arrange the packing and the shipping of the fish?
Yes, we deal with several fish smoking and packaging businesses in the local area and upon request, this can easily be arranged

Are the fish we catch cleaned ?
Yes, as soon as we come back to the marina, we will clean or filet and bag the fish caught during the day for you.

How often does the weather cancel trips?
Weather has never canceled a Serengeti fishing trip.  We have numerous spots close to home to fish where we have great success if the seas are too rough to make it to our usual fishing grounds.

Is is possible to arrange transportation to your house from local airports?
Absolutely.  The closest airport is Campbell River (or Comox International Airport) and flights go to and from Vancouver on a daily basis.  There will be an additional charge for pickup from the airport if necessary

Should I make a reservation?
Reservations are strongly recommended. Our most popular charter periods are booked very quicikly - often well in advance. I is best to book by the end of March. However, due to cancellations, reservations may sometimes be made a short notice, so it is always best to call and check.

Do you require a deposit?
A 50% deposit is required as soon as you have booked, with the remainder being paid 30 days before your scheduled arrival.

When are the best times to book a fishing charter to catch salmon or halibut?
To catch salmon, the best times are from early June to early September.  to catch halibut, the best season is from late April to the end of September, with the largest halibut being caught in late May.

How many people can fish on one trip?
The maximum amount of people we will take is 4 on each boat, or 8 people for one trip (on two separate boats).  If planning a trip with more than 4 people, be sure to make your reservations early in order to reserve both boats for the same time period. To reserve, please click here.

Is there food on the boat?
Yes, ALL food for lunches and drinks (non-alcoholic) are provided for you on board.  If you have any food allergies, please tell us in advance.  Alcoholic beverages can be made available upon request at your own cost.

Reserve early! During peak season, the best times are quickly booked, with reservations made in March and April for the summer. To reserve your Serengeti Fishing Charter, please click here.
